Laundry on a Kenyan Line

Thanks to Linda D. for this picture of laundry drying in Kenya. There's so much of it that I wonder if this is a communal line? One family can't possibly have that many clothes on a line can they?

How exciting to have some African laundry on a line anyway. It's been a while since I've paid any attention to this blog of mine, so I am grateful that there are still readers out there that think of this blog when they come across laundry on a line around the world.

Laundry on a Ugandan Line

This is my favourite (and probably only) laundry photo. It was taken outside of Mulago hospital in Kampala, Uganda and it is of people drying linens for their family members who are in the hospital. Not even a laundry line but cleaner whites than I ever get.

So many people around the world dry their laundry like this. I took tonnes of photos just like this when I was in Bangladesh, but my rolls of film were stolen from my bag at the airport. I was devestated! Do any of you have photos with laundry drying on the ground like this? How does the cotton dry so clean on the ground?
