Laundry on a Ugandan Line

Thanks to Sara for capturing this shot in Uganda. Here's what Sara says about her photo:

This is my favourite (and probably only) laundry photo. It was taken outside of Mulago hospital in Kampala, Uganda and it is of people drying linens for their family members who are in the hospital. Not even a laundry line but cleaner whites than I ever get.

So many people around the world dry their laundry like this. I took tonnes of photos just like this when I was in Bangladesh, but my rolls of film were stolen from my bag at the airport. I was devestated! Do any of you have photos with laundry drying on the ground like this? How does the cotton dry so clean on the ground?

Laundry on a Free Stock Photo Line

These photos are taken from http://www.sxc.hu/ - a free stock photo site that I love. I know I haven't been around much lately (for this blog anyway), but I am still working on the blog as a book - so please do keep sending in your photos of laundry. I will post them & share the love.

Laundry on a Moroccon Line

I love it when people go to far away places and remember to take a photo when they see some laundry drying in a beautiful spot for me and my little blog. Thanks Sarah, from Canada all the way to Vienna, via England and Morocco.

Laundry on Indian, Cambodian and Tibetan Lines

Thanks to Celina for her amazing photos of laundry in Tibet & India. She felt a bit weird about posting the Monk pictures, but I think they're brilliant so put sensitivities aside.

And yes, technically these prayer flags are not laundry but they are beautiful so I had to include them here.
Celina says, "This is what happened when unsuspecting boys allow girls to stay for weeks at a time in their home - long enough that eventually laundry had to be done and inevitably hung to dry in the livingroom!?!?!? Sorry Tigerman!!!"
